This course will introduce you to the history, development, operations, and management of esports players, teams, leagues, events, and competitions. It will provide a comprehensive introduction to the various aspects of Esports Event Management, from the basics of organizing events to the nuances of working with sponsors. Through engaging lectures and real-world activities, you will gain an understanding of the business of esports. You will also develop the necessary skills to effectively manage, promote, and monetize esports events. At the end of the course, you will create a complete marketing and promotional strategy for an esports event of your own design.
Dr. Roxanne Kemp is an experienced educator and Certified Accessibility Specialist with the Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA). She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology from Tarleton State University, a Doctor of Philosophy in Technology from Capitol Technology University, a Graduate Program in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Graduate Certificate in Telehealth from American College of Education, Doctoral Studies in General Psychology from Capella University, and Doctoral Studies in Business from the University of Incarnate Word. Dr. Kemp has been a leader in education, holding multiple positions as Chief Academic Officer, Chief Online Education Officer, Dean, Director, and Campus Director. She currently works as the as a consultant and professor at several universities advocating for quality education and helping educational institutions better serve students through technology and enhanced learning.
